[glow=Navy,2,300]In light of the major rattle throwing of Everton over Rafas remarks that they are a "small Club" - What do members think? Are Everton no longer regarded as a big Club or is that baloney??[/glow]

oh i forgot to say what i think - sorry lol i dont think they are a 'big' Club anymore, when i was younger maybe, but now, Club status is dictated by the success a team has on the pitch - and im sorry - but i cant remember the last trophy they won no disrespect to them - but themselves and spurs are no longer 'big' clubs in my eyes

Are they one of 'The Big Four' that the media talk about? NO. As G4E said at one time yes they were, but not now. FYI G4E I think it was the 95 FA Cup v manure......I sat with my bluenose son and two manure fans and watched the game....priceless.....almost as good as a Reds win....LOL (almost)

Thats right Commando i remember that game - we were all 'toffees' for the day - classic stuff lol On the big club argument - not to me anymore, but they have to remember when Rafa puts something over, he is talking in a foreign language, so instead of getting all over the top about one remark, why dont they try and give an interview in Spanish and see how they get on - well neverwonners???!!!! ![>:(](http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k25/scousysmurf/smilies/arge.gif)

I too used to look at em as big club matirial, Steeped in history.
Think there only club to be in league, prem etc all their existance won in europe, league titles in 80's.
My opionon of their fans at the derby went out the window with the songs they were singing. there fans have got worse every year.
there so bitter because we stopped em being champions of europe. And they have been in our shadow & they just dont like it.
So lots of history, but small & bitter for me.

We never stopped em being champs of Europe........Initially UEFA stopped em competing....there was no guarantee (? Sorry bout the spelling, not a word I type often)that they would win that year! so what's happened since they've been allowed back into european competition? Even when they qualified for the ECL they went out at the first hurdle....we could argue that we would have won it more but for UEFA....You're right Walt...Bitter but not for the right reasons.......I'd love Neverwon to be big again cos my lad follows em..........but I can't see it happening any time soon.....

I think it was harsh with that ban, for all clubs that is not just ours. I think they had a good chance of winning something in europe for sure, like you said not guarenteed.
Our sides in 88/89 89/90 would have deffo won something, don't get me wrong would luv to see neverwon up there with the best.
It's just sad to hear & read the friendly derby is changing for the worst, because of the bitterness.
Don't know of any other match where fans of both sides sit together.

good points all round peeps although walt i think them days of fans sitting together is going, they seem to have got so bitter now a couple of years back they were down - i think man city drawing kept them up and this is a big club? ![???](http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k25/scousysmurf/smilies/9TH.gif) ?? see with the mancs you can see the jealousy - you think of Liverpool - you think, great footie team, great music, humour, tradition you think of manchester - you think rain lol but with the neverwons, i think its cos in their minds they were the city of Liverpools team (until the row over the rent and we were formed) and then Shankly brought us from 2nd div oblivion to what we are today - and its bitterness now really

Sat'dees game I heard wasn't all that.. ![:'(](http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k25/scousysmurf/smilies/16TH.gif) I managed to get to the fa cup qtr final last year v manure & the atmosphere was absolutely rocking. Best I have witnessed for yrs So I hope our atmosphere with neverwon get better, coz it is the best derby in the world & traditional...

hhmmm!! see you would have more experience than me walt being from Gods own country there but, i think it used to be the best derby, but now, because of the gap in class and there is a definate gap in class no matter what the neverwons think - i would have to put the Spanish derby -Real/Barca above it i have mates who are Celtic fans and they have said the 'Old Firm' is untouchable, but thats a different edge to it mind i just think the fans prefer our games against manusa now to be honest walt ![:(](http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k25/scousysmurf/smilies/6TH.gif)

I would luv to see all those derby's, just to compare with ours. they must all be incredible.
But ours I would have thought would be better coz we support one of the clubs involved & ya get more passionate I suppose.
I have always prefered our games wth manure ta be honest, I just think theres more of a rivalry in the air.

exactly thats what i was meaning - apparently neville revealed that when the seasons fixtures come out - ours is the first game he looks for and thats part of the prob for neverwon, they cant accept that the game against manusa is more important to us than their game - but times change - so what can a peeps do? ![:'(](http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k25/scousysmurf/smilies/16TH.gif)
