1 Dalglish's name is chanted around Anfield as Liverpool get the game started looking to maintain their fine form.
9 GOAL The corner is only cleared as far as Van der Vaart just outside the area and he controls the ball before brilliantly volleying into the far corner beyond Reina.
15 Midfield is always a key battleground and it is an area of the pitch that has been particularly congested so far, with both teams trying to close down their opponents as quickly as possible.
18 Suarez goes down in agony clutching his calf after wriggling away from Rose, but it is only a brief scare for supporters before he regains his footing.
34 Both sides are showing a lot of passion but unfortunately that is leading to a lot of fouls and subsequent disruptions with Webb constantly blowing his whistle for free-kicks.
40 There is another side to Carroll's game, though, and he proves useful at the back in an aerial challenge with Crouch following a Spurs set-piece.
42 Suarez escapes from Rose with some clever trickery near the touchline and delivers a dangerous cross, but Spurs survive again.
45 Carroll shows quick feet before being brought down just outside the area by Sandro, presenting Liverpool with an excellent chance on the stroke of the interval. The Spurs midfielder, meanwhile, earns himself a booking.
Suarez steps up to take the free-kick and curls his effort narrowly wide, before the whistle goes for half-time.

46 Tottenham get us started in the second half and there have been no changes at the break. Spurs were probably good value for their first-half lead, although Liverpool started to respond strongly as the game developed.
54 There is still not much to choose between the sides as Flanagan defends well to tackle Rose.
55 PENALTY Flanagan has had an impressive afternoon but he is at fault here as he clumsily barges into Pienaar, right on the edge of the area, and Webb points to the spot.
56 GOAL Modric steps up and sends his spot-kick straight down the middle, with Reina diving away to the right, and Spurs now have a commanding advantage.
61 Suarez, who has been lively all afternoon, skips down the left wing before sending over a low cross that is cut out by a stretching Dawson.
68 Jamie Carragher picks out Kuyt with a fantastic long pass but Dawson has been a rock at the back for Spurs today and makes the challenge.
72 Tottenham work a corner short to Modric just outside the Liverpool area and the Croatian playmaker curls a teasing cross-cum-shot towards the back post that Reina gathers somewhat uneasily.
74 There are more screams for a Liverpool penalty from the crowd as Kaboul blocks a cross, but he has his arms behind his back and there was definitely no handball.
78 Time is running out for Liverpool now and Tottenham's defence looks solid despite the threat of Suarez and Carroll
83 It has been a frustrating afternoon for Carroll on his return to the starting XI, as he has only had scraps to feed on.
89 Lennon tees up Pienaar and the South African takes a shot that bounces awkwardly just in front of Reina before flying wide.
90+3 Kuyt has been tireless in his work as usual and nearly reduces Liverpool's arrears, only for his low shot to be kept out by Cudicini at his near post.
