PSV Eindhoven have confirmed their interest in Liverpool full back Jan Kromkamp.
The Dutch defender only joined Liverpool in January as part of a swap deal which took Josemi to Villarreal, but he failed to nail down a regular spot at right back.
Reds chief Rafa Benitez has swelled his defensive options with the captures of Fabio Aurelio and Gabriel Paletta and although neither are right backs, the competition for places at Anfield will be fierce in the new campaign.
PSV chairman Rob Westerhof feels Kromkamp is available and is looking to thrash out a deal with The Reds.
"We have contacted Liverpool to ask what Kromkamp's status is," Westerhof told Voetbal International.
"They made it clear his situation is pretty hazy. We don`t know if we can loan him or if we must buy him.
"Maybe we will get some clarity soon."
