Rafa is busy drawing up deals with several players in La Liga. Fran Merida looks to be a very likely signing and, very surprisingly, looks to be involved in a straight swap deal with Harry Kewell. Daniel Alves and David Villa both put pen to paper with Liverpool last week, with 11 and 17 million pounds sterling for each player respectively. I'm a bit worried about Villa for that much money to be honest, as he looks a little bit lightweight and could be knocked about by your typical Premiership centre backs. Rafa has also been busy courting Torres but this is highly unlikely because of both the price and the fact that everyone else is after him. Liverpool can actually afford to buy big name players, despite rumour to the contrary, now thanks to investment from both the Kraft family and Steve Morgan in a joint venture. A surprise move may be made in an attempt to secure Kaka from Milan, although this won't happen, and will be purely a show of ambition to scare Chelsea and to let the world know we do indeed have money to compete, this will only happen after we have completely tied up deals for any players so we don't make their prices skyrocket.
These are not my words!!!
(There is one great side and one good side in Liverpool, the great side is liverpool the good side is Liverpool reserves.)

i very much hope kingkenny this is true, i watched Villa with Spain in the world cup and was very impressed, in fact i think alot would agree that the Spanish were very unlucky. Re Torres i dont feel any amount of money would prize him away from Atletico, the simple truth is his heart and soul is in the club, just like Stevie G and us, the lad just doesnt want to leave the club he supported as a child. To me too much is made of Chelsea's money in Europe Chelsea are nobodys with no European pedigree and until they win the Champions League i feel this position wont change. The fact is top Euro players want to play for big teams and no harm to the Russian or Morinho Chelsea just dont fit the bill

Came across this today.
The Krafts to take over next week. this will meen Rafa has an extra £40mil to spend. Villa has signed for £18mil and Daniel Alves has signed for £11mil. LFC are keeping these transfers quiet. All will be revealed before the Community Sheild game Against Chelsea
Maybe there is more truth to this than I thought!!
